VISIT TO OAMARU, (Per Pees® Association.) O AMARU, August 3. Viscount Jellicoe. accompanied by Lrtriy JellioOe and tho Hon Lucy Jellicoe, paid his first official visit to Oaraaru this evening. He was tendered a dinner by the citieem;, and afterwards attended a reception in tho Drill Hall. In th© course of his reply to th© address of welcome Lord Jellicoe referred in eulogistic language to the memorial oaks that the town and country had planted along the highways in memory of tho North Ot-ago men who fell in the groat, war. Lord Jelliooe said that in all his travels he had not come across a more fitting form of memorial to the fallen. Tt was a. living monument that would keep evergreen the memory of th© brave sons of this district who did their duty at the cost of their lives in th© groat war. Lord Jellied© will visit th© AYajtahi High School ill th© morning, attend a review of primary schools early iu the afternoon, and leave for Christchurch later in the day
