JUNGLE TRAGEDY.
THREE PEOPLE MURDERED. LONDON, July 20. Th© “ Daily Mail’s” correspondent at Singapore states that a ghastly murder in the jungle has been disclosed by the finding of the mutilated body of Mr T. H. Darbyshire, an Australian surveyor, who was in th© service of F.M.S. Railways, at Qulai, Johore. Th© story is that when returning to Kulai from Singapore, with his son, aged five, and a native servant, Mr Darbyshire was met by five coolies, who had been sent with provisions. _ MiDarby shire failing to arrive at Kulai, his colleague, Mr J. S. Price, set out on a search, and found th© son bleeding from th© head and his speech quite incoherent. The police went out and found the rifled body of Air Darbyshire. He had beep backed with knives and strangled with his own tie. Close by was the dead body cf the servant. A reward of £6O for the apprelr vision of each coolie was offered, ind within twenty-four hours thre© were caught in th© streets elf Singapore. They were wearing shirts and trousers belonging to Mr Darbyshire.
