LORD BALFOUR OF BURLEIGH. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 8, 8.55 a.m.) LONDON, July 7. ’Fhe death is announced of Lord Balfour of Burleigh. (Alexander Hugh Bruce, sixth Baron Balfour, was born in 1849. He was educated at Eton and Oxford. From 1874 until a few years ago lie was a member and chairman of numerous important industrial, educational and municipal commissions. He was secretary to the Board of Trade 1889Lord Rector of Edinburgh University 1896-99, and Secretary for Scotland in the Cabinet 1896-1903. Baron Balfour’s heir is the Hon George Bruce, who was horn in 1883*)
