WEDDINGS.

BRYSON—HEWITT. The wedding was celebrated at St Ambrose’s Church, Sheffield, on Tuesday. June 28, when Aliss Margaret Hewitt, third daughter ol Air and Airs W. P. Hewitt, of Annat, was married to Mr John Bryson, third son of Afr and Mrs R. Bryson, of Springfield. The Rev T. Af. Curnovv was tho officiating clergyman. The service was fully choral, and the church was decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very daint y in a gown of accor-dion-pleated w hite crepe de chine, with touches of embroidery, and finished with pearls, with a. net veil aud orange blossoms. She carried a w hite shower bouquet. Her sister, Aliss Lily Hewitt, attended the bride, wearing a pale blue accordion-pleated crepe de chine dress, with touches of pink embroidery. She also carried a white shower bouquet, her hat being of black lace, relieved with pale blue and pink. Mr A. Bryson, brother of the bridegroom, attended as best man. After the ceremony, Mrs Hewitt, wearing a fine black serge braided costume, w ith a white hat trimmed w ith black ospreys and touches of heliotrope, received a largo number of guests at the Sheffield Town Hall, where afternoon tea was served. The tables looked extremely pretty with floral decorations of white chrysanthemums, Christ- j mas roses arid maidenhair fern. Among j those- present were Alesdames Butler [ (grandmother of the bride). Miller and ! Hardie; Alisses Hardie (4), Hewitt, Fisher and Harris, and Messrs L. and E. Hewitt, T. and A. Hardie, Johnstone, Garrick and Miller. Eater the happy couple left for the south, the bride travelling in a naw blue gabardine braided costume, with hat ofblack and jade green. In the evening many friends were entertained at a dance in the hall. MALL —HOBBS. The wedding was celebrated at the Durham Street Methodist Church on •June 2-9 ot Aliss Sarah Hobbs, only (adopted) daughter of Air and Airs T Hobbs, of The Peaks, and Mr William Wall, of Mawksw and, Marlborough, late of I'he Peaks- The bride, who was given away by her brother. Mr W. T. Hobbs, of Omihi, was charmingly dressed in white crepe de chine with embrodered veil and orange blossoms ami carried a bouquet of w)ii*e chrysanthemums ami Christmas lilies with maidenhair fern. The bride, who was given away by her father, was robed in a white velvet gown, the skirt was draped with side-panel of silver lace.- nnd the jumper bodice was trimmed with white fur. and finished with touches of silver and little posies of home-made flowers. The veil, which was worn over the face, and fell at the back into a. slight train, was held in place by a band of silver ribbon and orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums aud maidenhair, and she also wore a string of beautiful pearls, the gift of the bridegroom’s mother. Aliss Kathleen AJaindonald, who attended her sister as

bridesmaid, wore an amethyst velour cloth frock, smartly trimmed with beaver and braided, with hat to match. Her.bouquet was of mauve and pale pink flowers. The bridegroom was accompanied by Air AVilfrcd Dulieu as best man. . After the ceremony a reception was held at The Boresford, where Mr and Airs Afaindonald entertained about seventy guests- Alany handsome presents were received, including a beautiful silver tea and coffee service, with tray suitably inscribed, from the Papanui Methodist Church, where the bride has been organist for some years, and a piece of silver from the AYeedons Cricket Club. Later, Afr and Airs A. Hubbard left for their honeymoon, the bride s travelling costume being of green velour cloth, with a smart toque of gold tissue aud green brocade with band of black musquash, and handsome opossum furs. Airs F. J. Maindonald’r costume was of prunell© frieze with a little feather toque in shades of navy and fawn, and sot, of marmot furs, while Airs F. Hubbard wore a seal coat -over her navy costume, and toque to match, relieved with a gold spray. The guests included :—Air and Airs F. Hubbard, Air and Airs G. Hubbard, ATi* and Mrs B.
