INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE.

THE RESTRICTED TIMETABLE.

Regarding the telegram published yesterday announcing that the 'f>unedin offices of the Huddart-Parker line are to be closed shortly, the shipping manager of Kinsey and Co., Ltd., the local agents for the HuddartParker, stated this, morning that, although it was the intention to closo the I>une<lin office, the qpmpany would still carry on business there through an agency. This change has been brought about by’ the restricted intercolonial service. As far as the local office lyipw it is the intention of tho Huddart-Parker authorities to divert the Westralia from the Aus-tralia-New Zealand service, to the Ans-tralia-Tasmahia service. For some years now the "Westralia 'lias been running between Melbourne and New Zealand carrying passengers and cargo and calling at the Bluff, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and Wellington. With the removal of the W estralia from this service it is probable that the Union Steam Ship Company’s vessel, the Paloona, will be the only boat maintaining a. regular passenger service between Melbourne and Southern New Zealand ports. Tho Huddart-Parker passenger steamers Itiverina and Ulimaroa are to i>e kept on the Auckland-Sydney and Wellington-Sydney services respectively. The Union Company will run tho Maheno in the Auckland-Sydney service and the Manuka aud Moeraki in iho Wellington-Sydney service. Tho following is the new Service for the inte: colonial passenger steamers: — Wellington to Sydney.— Manuka sails July 7, Ivloeraki July 18. Manuka July 28, Moeraki August 8„ Manuka August IS, Ulimaroa August 29, Manuka September 8. Sydney to Wellington—Moeraki July 9, Manuka July 20, Moeraki July 30, Manuka August 10, Ulimaroa August 20, Manuka, August 31. Auckland to Sydney.—Maheno July 7, lliverina July 14, Maheno July 23, Riverina August 2, Maheno August 13, Riverina August 23.
