TO-DAY’S CASES. CHRISTCHURCH Mr S. E. M’Carthy, S.M., presided at the Magistrate’s Court this morning. DR UNKENNESSTwo first offenders in drunkenness were each fined 10s in default twentyfour hours’ imprisonment. Stanley Geoffrey Mathias, a second offender, was fined 20s in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. REMANDED. Thomaa Ball, alias Wilson, alias Sinclair was charged with the dis©bedienco of a maintenance ordei made in respect of his wife. The arrears were stated to amount to £2B 10s. On the application of the police defendant was remanded to appear at Tiinaru on Wednesday. Catherine Baker appeared on remand on charges of breaking her prohibition order and of vagraiv* . On Friday she was found guilt*’ of both charges bj Mr Wyvern Wilson. S.M., and remanded until tp-day in order that inquiries might be made to see if there was a vacancy for her at Pakatoa. Today Senior-Sergeant O W. Kelly stated that the authorities would admit accused to Pakatoa. The Magistrate remanded her again until Wednesday in order that. she could be dealt with by Mr W T i!son.
