CARRARDS, CROWN JEWELLERS, LONDON.
AND A CHRTSTCHURCH JEWELLERY FIRM, 1824 TO 1921. You cannot always judge the quality of r.n article of Jewellery by its appearance ; you cannot always rely upon what you are told. What, then, is the bass of your confidence? There is just one true guide to quality—and it is infallible. If the name of the Jeweller is one which stands for high quality, good workmanship and fair dealing, you are sale in buying. There is one Jewellery Firm in Christchurch whose reputation for work is not confined to N.Z., for their work has taken medals in N-Z., Australia, Paris and London. In 1824 Mr A. W. Jones was head engraver for Garrada, Crown Jewellers. London, where later his son, A. W. Jones, served his apprenticeship, and after working several years for Garrards left London in 1880 for Christchurch, where he established the firm of Jones and Sons. In 1891 A. W. Jones, of the third generation, became head of tho Firm after serving o years at the engraving and 10 years at the watchmaking. No wonder the Firm’s reputation for reliable work is so well known in Christchurch, and it is not surprising the Firm is so busy. There is no Jewellery Firm in N-Z. so well equipped for undertaking Watch and Jewellery Repairs or the re-making of old jewellery into latest designs. Reliable work, moderate charges and entire satisfaction is this Firm’s aim. The address of Jones and Sons is 278, High Street, near Hereford St- 1
