Air W. A. Stout, head master of the Cashmere Hills School, lias been appointed head master oi the -Allenton School, Ashburton. Last evening members of the committee and householders presented Air Stout with a wallet containing some bank notes, and wished him every success in his new position. Alaster Don Stout was presented with a copy of tho “Boys’ Own Book. l>r Colin Anderson, lately house surgeon at the Christchurch Hospital, who went to Liverpool soiuo months ago to further bis studies in radiology, has gained a two years’ X-ray research scholarship (cancer, etc.)., of £4OO per year, at Alanchester University. Dr Anderson has now gone to Erlangen, in Bavaria, where he will reside about three months, to acquire the technique of deep theraphy; he will then go to clinics at Frankfort and Ranheim, and v/ill also visit Holland and Sweden. The Manchester Royal Infirmary is refurnishing its radiological department with the most modern apparatus, and has appointed Dr Colin Anderson, on his return from the Continent, to conduct cancer research investigation, and to bo principal radiologist of the infirmary .-
