The Australian and New Zealand Press Association learns that diplomatic circles believe that the Japanese Treaty will be renewed in a considerably emasculated form, in order to discount American feeling on the subject. It is understood that a hint has reached the Government from a source that cannot be disregarded that America would view renewal, unless modified, as an unfriendly act.
