The -fact that Superintendent J. Dwyer will retire at tho end of this month was referred to by Mr L. A. Shand at laßt night’s meeting of the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. He moved, and Mr F. Moorhouse seconded, that Superintendent Dwyer should be given a complimentary fishing license for this year % and that future councils should be recommended to pay him the same oourtesv in future years as long as he wished to accept it. The mover and seconder, and Mr E. t\ Stead, referred to the help Superintendent Dwyer has giveu the society, and the motion was passed.
