The- cup until ibis month has always been held either by the Otago or Timxru Club. Otago Golf Club challenged Fimaru in April. 1907. and won the up. They were challenged later in 1907; in September, 1908: June. 1909: May, 1912; October, 1913: and June, 191-4, three times by Timaru and three Limes by Christchurch, hut withstood the attack on each occasion. There wore no matches placed during the ivar. but in August. 1920. the Timaru ”luh went to Dunedin again- and was -uecesful in carrying off the irophy. hi April of this year Otago challenged and were beaten in a match at Tim--iru. Christchurch Club challenged this month and sent a team to Tiniiru lost Saturday, which von bv the very substantial margin of 32 boles, and brought the cup to Christchurch or the first time in its history. The rimaru ladies won the singles by three Tames, but Christchurch scored n substantial majority of wins in both the men’s singles and mixed foursomes, eventually winning by 51 games to 16.
