Ihe Daily Mail’s ” correspondent ( accompanying the Germans in Silesia ’ telegraphs that the Germans attacked the. Polish rebels in Grossteiner Forest ori Sunday. The Poles hurriedly evacuated villages, looted and set. fire to Grossteiner Castle arid left notices threatening the destruction of factories, mines and towns if forced to retreat. A large number of volunteers attacked with revolvers and are now' armed with rifles taken, from Polish dead. The Germans are elated at, the initial success and are consolidating their positionThe “ Times ” correspondent, with Polish troops reports incessant lighting on Saturday in Rosenberg. Krenzburg, Ratibor and Krappitz areas in Upper Silesia. The Polish troops are strongly armed. Korfanty’s offer of disarmament and withdrawal is considered a joke or a diplomatic move. The Germans. who have been strongly reinforced threaten an early general advance.
