At the Smallfield inquest Colin Dalbcth .‘-aid be was present when the body was recovered. No disinfectant was used. Smallfield was of a cheerful disposition. His face- was placid and peaceful. *V Harry Cracknell, public accountant, said he looked after Smallfield’s business affairs. Deceased took Ids life policies from the safe on the morn- j mg of his death. Deceased was never depressed. His nett profit at the end of September was £I6DO. Deceased was an optimistic maii, and had an energetic mind. 11c was not the typo of man to be depressed over business, or commit suicide. At the time of his death deceased was in credit at the bank to tho extent o£- £1459.
