SENIOR GRADE. RESULTS AT A GLANCE: SYDENHAM 1, v. CHBMTOHUBCH 1. CRANFORD G, v. ADDINGTON 0. SELWYN 5, v. Y.M.C.A. 1. SELWYN (5), Y.M.C.A. (1). These teams met at Lancaster Fsrk. the game resulting iu a win Selwyn by 3 goals to 1. Y.MVC.A. were the first tout tack. Balfour missing an easy shot. H. Bell transferred play to the other end where a corner resulted, but it proved abortive. A rush by the Y.M.C.A. forwards saw Holland narrowly miss scoring. Hildas made a run down the right wing for Y.M.C.A., but Holland missed with tlie shot. Jf. Bell and \Y. Beil transferred ploy to the Y.M.C.A. circle, -..here. Drayton stopped a. hot shot from Richmond. Selwvn kept up a sustained attack, and sovcral shots narrowly missed tho net. Half-time was called. Selwvn 0, Y.M.C.A. 0. The second spell opened with Selwvn attacking. but S. Bell’s shot missed. Balfour transferred play to the other end, with a solo run, but Smith hit out. Tho Y.M.C.A. my'-iud r. . in a passing rush, but wild shooting spoilt tho opportunity. Seiwyn set up a detei-mined attack which ended in Wood field finding the net. Seiwyn 1, Y.M.C.A. 0. Seiwyn kept up the pressure and TVoodfield scored from a scramble. Seiwyn Y.M.C.A. 0. Seiwyn wero now having the better of the garoo. A hot shot from H. Bell was well stopped by Drayton. H. Bell broke apay and centring well, enabled W, Bell to score Selwvn’s third goal. Selwvn 3, Y.M.C.A. 0. 'Shortly afterwards H. Bell scored another goal for Seiwyn. Seiwyn 4. Y.M.C.A. 0 Y.M.C.A. now took a turn in the attack, and Balfour found the net from close range. Selwvn 4. Y.M.C.A. 1. Y.M.C.A. attacked, and Hill just missed the uet. Grose sent play to the other end with a. long hit. but \Y. Bell’s shot went over the bar. Tho Seiwyn forwards were again on the attack, and W. Bell scored his second goal. The final whistle went with the Selwvn 5 Y.M.C.A. , , . .1 Referee. Mr H. Throp. SYDENHAM (1), CH.CH. (1). Sydenham took the offensive, and after tho game had been penned in their opponents' twenty-five for ten minutes a centre by Sherriffs * gave French a chance to ecoro an eaey goal. Sydenham 1, Christchurch U. Sydenham had tlio better of th© game until half-time, but could pot add to the score. Sydenham 3, Christchurch 0. On resuming Christchurch pressed hard, end a splendid centre by Barwick gave Sinclair a chance which was successful. Y.M.C.A. 5 (Pirio 2, Milne 2 and Barker) defeated Senior Cadets 3 (Richards and 1 Scott). Referee, Mr A. Hasell. Seiwyn B defeated Cranford by default. LADIES 5 HOCKEY. SECOND GRADE. The only ladles’ match played was Sydenham v. Rangiora. at Sydenham Park. Rangiora defeated Sydenham by 2 goals
