J.1i.20 a.m.) LONDON, May 11 The League of Nations Commission Mas recoin mended that the A;-, land inlands remain under f innish sovereignty, being self-governed in accordance Vitli the Finnish Diet’s undertaking. The A aland Islands lie at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia, between Sweden and Finland. About eighty off the islands are inhabited, the total population numbering about 25.000. The islands have been occupied by several of tho northern nations at different times, and have been the cause of n number of disputes. I tiey were occupied by the Germans during -he v ar.
