Some time ago the lessee of the refreshment rooms nt the Morrinsville railway station, who was the owner of the old premises, received word that the lease would not he renewed, lie wrote to the Railway Department ottering to sell the building at valuation. After waiting for six weeks and receiving no reply lie invited tenders for the purchase of the building lor removal, w'rites the Morrinsvills correspondent of the Auckland “ Herald.” After a tender had been accepted an official of the Department arrived to value th© building. He received a shock when he found it had been sold. The purchaser was then sought out and asked if ho would sell- This he declined to do and the result is that the tea rooms have been pulled down and removed. Tt is understood that the Railway Deportment, contemplate erecting new refreshment rooms at the station. AFTER EATING ONIONS.
