SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
SOMERFIELD. A meeting of the Somerfield School Committee was held on May 4, Mr W. A. Britten presiding. The head master reported that the average attendance for the past four weeks was 330 out of a roll of 392. During the term holidays a playing area situated at the back x s ° r li cn of tJie school will i e asphalted and ready for use when the school re-opens. The new committee are bent upon completing the works planned by their predecessors, and are formulating schemes for yaisirtg funds. In this connection an appeal will be made to the residents of Sjpreydorf to auuport & progressive euchre and dance. The first social evening will be held in the schoolroom on May 31.
