Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P., will leave for Australia next month on an extended visit. Mr and Mrs Anderson, of Heywood Terrace, sail by the Moeraki to-day, en route for England. Advice has been received by the secretary of the Canterbury Automobile Association, that the Pahua Bridge near Culverden is now open for traffic, but persons using it must exercise care as the structure is not yet completed . The Canterbury Education Board, which now builds all its own instead of letting tenders, has several large works in hand in Canterbury. In addition to the new main school at Phillipstown, the foundation stone of which waa laid on Saturday, the board will begin almost immediately a new main school at Allenton, near Ashburton and important additions to the Timarn South School.
