CEMENT WORKERS.

DEPUTATION TO ACTINGPREMIER. [Pea Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 11. A deputation, representing the cement workers at tho Terakohe (Golden Bay) works, waited on Sir Francis Bell and explained that the impending closing of tho works would put about 120 men, including seventy or eighty with families, out of work- No other employment was available there, and removal elsewhere would involve great hardship. It was suggested that the Government should take over tho works during tho winter, or till the position was easier. Sir Francis Bell promised to consult the Board of Trade, and see what can be done.
