In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Adams, dealing with the case of William Albert Hedley Love, who pleaded guilty to incest on his own child, said that he was going to impose the maximum penalty. He deferred st'.it ng it until be ascertained the. limitations of the law. Robert William I'egley, circus labourer. for indecent assault on a girl ten years of age, was sentenced to seven years’ hard labour and to ten strokes of the lash.
