The Transport Workers’ Executive passed a resolution that it will continue to forbid tho importation of foreign coal. Not to do so would be equivalent to allowing the Government to bring in blackleg labour to break tho strike. OIL FOR LOCOMOTIVES. Australian an.d N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, May 10. Six railway companies, including the London and North-Western., the Great Western and the Metropolitan, are converting tlieir locomotives into oil-fuel burners, instead of coal. This can be done in four days. A .ton of crude petroleum will do the work of two tons of coal. The cost of the conversion is £3OO per locomotive.
