Six railway companies, including the London and North-Western., the Great Western and the Metropolitan, are converting tlieir locomotives into oil-fuel burners, instead of coal. This can be done in four days. A .ton of crude petroleum will do the work of two tons of coal. The cost of the conversion is £3OO per locomotive.
