Mr Moor arrived in Dunedin, from Cumberland, iri tho year 1860, and came on to this district, where he has resided over since. In his time Mr Moor lias been active in public life, and on the religious side his interest in the St Albans Methodist circuit lias been consistent throughout. Mll Moor’s advanced age and infirmity incidental thereto has not dimmed his mental alertness, and ho can converse with a brightness and clearness that at times are astonishing to his friends. Several friends personally congratulated Mr Moor, and a number of congratulatory messages were received The final meeting of the Belfast Gala Committee was held 011 Monday evening. Mr E. J. Wotton presided over a. full attendance. The balancesheet, which was adopted, showed the total takings to bo £7ll 0s lOd, and expenditure £l2l 17s, leaving a credit balance of £589 3s 10d, which it was decided to apportion as follows: Fifty pounds to complete the war memorial, £lO set aside to cover any extraordinary expenditure in connection with forming the mound, and if not required for that purpose to be divided, 75 per cent to the Belfast Social and Athletic Club and 25 per cent to the Domain Board. Of the remaining £529 3s 10d, £132 os lid was allotted to the Domain Board and £396 17s lid to the Belfast Social and Athletic Club. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for the assistance they had given, the committee recognising that it was largely due to the efforts of the ladies that tlie gala was sc successful.
