In tho Northern Union final Leigh defeated Halifax by 13 points to nil. This is the first time that a Lancashire club beaten a Yorkshire club in the Northern Union final since 19G5.
The City Council has obtained about one hundred tons of potatoes from Elmwood Park. It is expected that the park will be put down in grass this year.
