BOROUGH COUNCILS.

AKAROA. The fortnightly 'meeting of tho Akuroa Borough Council was held ou \V odnc-Kciay; present—the Mayor (Mr G. Armstrong) and Councillors isarnham, Williams, Parnixam, Leete, Parris, Korridge, Wilson, Munrt/ and l)uvia. Correspondence was read rrom Mr T. D. Jdarman, borough solicitor, regarding settlement of sale of tho borough electric plant to the Banka Peninsula Power Board, and enclosing deeds for signature. This was done, and the seal of the council attached. The Public Trustee forwarded a list of the different loans, sinking funds and th 6 aocrued amounts. The Valuation Department forwarded a list of new valuations of the . borough properties. Plan 3 and specifications of & new building on Beach Road were considered and passed. The financial statement showed receipts since last meeting to have been JJO9 I.os Id, and expenditure .£426 2s. As it wan tho last meeting of the council, the Mayor thanked the councillors for theis loyal assistance in carrying out the work of tiie borough.
