LOWTHER, Speaker of the House of Commons, who has just retired, The House recommended that the King should mark his appreciation of Mr Lowther’s destinguished services, and in all probability Mr Speaker will be created an earl. Ho has had a most successful term, and is respected by all parties as a firm and impartial chairman.
