But if you earnestly desire that your city should regain its position and be placed on an equal basis to compete with other seaports and towns, support the Port Christchurch League’s candidates for the Harbour Board—Dr H. T. J. Thacker and Messrs Howard, Scott and Sorensen—who realise the seriousness of the position and know that the remedy is direct access to the sea. They will actively promote your interests.
