BREACH OF AWARD.

HARBOUR BOARD FINED. [Pr.n Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 1. At tho Afagistrate’s Court to-day reserved judgment was delivered in a ease heard last week, in which the Inspector of Awards proceeded against the Harbour Board in connection with an alleged breach of award eonwages to seven men. In regard to five of the men, it was pointed out that they were only casually employed connecting up cluster lights in ships’ holds, a work requiring no practical knowledge of electricity- Tlie case in so far as these men were concerned was dismissed. Concerning tlie other two men, permanent employees of tho board, the Magistrate considered, from the nuturo of tlie work that they had been employed on, that a breach of award had been committed, and ho imposed a penalty on tho hoard of £2.
