AN ASHBURTON WEDDING.
BELL--OAK LEV. (Special io tho “ Star.”) ASHBURTON, March 2. A wedding of much local interest was celebrated this morning at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ashburton. by the Rev G. Miller. The bridegroom was Air TV. R. W. Bell, second son of Air Robert Bell, and the bride Miss Rene Oakley, fourth daughter of Mr AY. J. Oakley, “ Oakburn.” Ashburton. The bride was gowned in a frock of cream souple satin, trimmed with silver shadow tissue embroidery and tassels, the corsage being delicately worked with brilliants. The long Court train was of satin, and the veil j of white silk neb fell from a tiara of : brilliants. She carried u shower bouj quet with silver streamers. .Miss [ Muriel Oakley was the maid of honour, and wore a simple frock of forget-me-not blue- The bridesmaids were Miss Madeline Oakley, in lavender crepe de chine, and Alias Bessie Corbett, in shell pink crepe de chine, and each wore a laced leghorn liat. Tho flower girls were Misses Linda Robertson and Gwen Oakley. Tlie best man was Air Charles F. R. Bell, the bridegroom’s youngest brother. A large assemblage of relatives and friends, including the parents of both parties, were afterwards entertained at “ Oakburn.”
