JEWELLERY TRADE SURPRISED.

ANNOUNCEMENT IS LIKE A BOMBSHELL. A REMARKABLE GUARANTEE. We understand that considerable perturbation has been caused in the jewpllery trade in Christchurch following upon the announcement made in the “Star” by Jones and Sons, Manufacturing Jewellers 278, High Street, that they will give a twelve months’ guarantee with every Greenwich Lever Watch sold by them, no matter what accident befals it during that period. We are informed that this is the first time such a guarantee has been given by any watchmaker in New Zealand. Jones and Sons declero that their reason for giving it is their strong faith in the watch- 15 is undoubtedly the strongest watch we have ever seen. This is the guarantee Jones and Sons give:— “ We guarantee every Greenwich Lever Watch we sell to he a perfect timekeeper, and we will keep the same in good order against accidents, breakages, or stoppages free of charge for the first year after purchase. These watches last fifteen j'ears.” No wonder Jones and Sons have been selling dozens of these fine witches since they made their first announcement. A large number of # railwaymen, tramway men. commercial travellers, farmers and others requimg accurate timepiece have been among the purchasers. The prices are as follow: In nickel cases with 7 jewels £2 10s; in extra heavy hunting silver cases (double case) with 15 jewels, a watch of a lifetime, £7. Jones and Sons are the sole N.Z. agents for the reliable Greenwich Lever, and, needless to say, they are very proud of their agency. You will find this firm’s shop at 278, High Street, just two or three doors from Hereford Street. XF
