The Australic, from Norfolk, Virginia, arrived in the stream yesterday morning and was berthed in the afternoon. The vessel left the American port on January 17, and had fair weather right to Lyttelton. She has on board 5812 tons of coal, consigned to the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Captain Jacobson is in charge of the vessel, and has with him a crew of thirty-nine all told, all of whom are Norwegians. The Australic was built in 1907 by Hawthorn, Leslie and Co., Ltd.. Newcastle. Her principal dimensions arc: —Length, 880 ft Sin; breadth, 49ft; depth, 26ffc 7in. She is owned by the Transatlantic Steamship Company of Gothenburg, Norway.
