Page (Wellington) seconded: “That the council of the institute confer with the Builders’ Federation and other interested bodies on tbe apprentices’ question, with a view to conceited action.” Taking th© case of Napier Air Greig quoted figures to show that apprentices had decreased since 1911 from 10 to nil in the carpentering trade, two to one in tho painting trade, and 14 to nil in the plumbing trade An amendment by Mr T. H. Battle (Wanganui) and seconded bv Mr C. H. Roberts.
