Three thousand Cossacks from Kazin, ■with two batteries of guns Riza Khan commanding, captured leheran (capital of Persia) at midnight, on I'ebruary 20 v/thout serious resistance. the Cossacks were met at Mehrahad, near Teheran, by Persian and Bntisii officials. Riza Khan announced his intention of establishing a military Government, with a view to defending the Persians against the Bolsheviks, after the withdrawal of the British troops. 'There were a few casualties in street lighting. The Cossacks are policing tho streets and guarding the foreign legations. The town is quiet, and tho bazaars are closed.
