Tho “Manchester Guardian” says true cricket lovers were dismayed to read that although it rained overnight, the Sydney ■wicket was not affected owing to protection. Cricket is an outdoor game, to which glorious uncertainty, its greatest fascination, is attributable. Th-e finest team is that which is prepared for every change in conditions. The Australian cricketers Btarted a match against South Auckland at noon. The weather was cloudy, with Light showers. This is the longest first wicket partnership since the Australians commenced their tour.
