FIRES.

OUTBREAK AT J. J. NIVEN’S At 3.27 yesterday afternoon the City Fire Brigade received a call to Messrs J. J. Niven and Co., corner of Madras and Lichfield Streets, where a shed in the yard, in which M ere kept stores and oil, was on fire. A quantity of oil was destroyed, and several motor generators were badly damaged. The shed was also considerably damaged. The shed was insured in the Norwich Union Office for £2O, but there were no insurances on the contents, so far as could he- ascertained ; though the main building and contents are covered by a policy for £SOOO. and the damaged stock may be included in this.
