TRAMWAY BOARD.

The Tramway Board met vesterdav ; present Hon J. Barr. M.L.C. (chairman) and Messrs S. A* Staples, D. Sykes, J. Wood. A. S. Taylor, G. T. Booth and JJ. Pearce. Shopkeepers in Colombo Street- presented a petition. asking that cars from Papanui and Fendaltori should stop north of Armagh Street. Thev said that they found that since cars began to stop near Gloucester Street, their customers went into the city, and did not walk back to their shops. The petition was referred to the Works and Traffic Committee. The City Council wrote asking that the Bromley ’bus should be continued for a further three months.
