The Court of Convocation of Canterbury has decided upon alterations in tho* Book of Common Prayer and the Litany. These alterations specifically refer to airmen and contain praj’ers for guidance at election time, and for maintenance of industrial peace. The working of the marriage service has been altered to read: “Marriage was ordained for the innocence of mankind.” and the passage as to remedy against sin. now reads*. “It was ordained that the natural instincts and affections implanted by God should be hallowed and controlled.” It is proposed chat instead of the passage oxherting wives’ subjection to husbands, that ihe clergy shall read some other passage of Scripture. Convocation dq.es not mention the lively question, embodied in the word T< obey.”
