FASHIONABLE DISPLAY OF CANADIAN FURS. It is no exaggeration to Kay that never before have so many beautiful and luxuriant fur wraps of every description been seen in Christchurch as the display of Mr Brenton’s, in Madame Poppy’s shop in Cashel Street. They are indeed a. revolution, and words fail to describe them, but they exactly represent the latest models which are illustrated in Vogue,” “ The Smart Set” and other high class journals. In tho realms of fashion furs are becoming more and more important, and with a Christchurch winter ahead of us, and the memory of last winter’s icy temperature, furs appeal to all of us. Mr Brent on, of "Winnipeg, whose firm lias been in existence since 1882, and who lias his own stations in the vast regions of Canada, is selling furs without the middleman's profit, and though some at first sight may appear to bo expensive, when the quality. design and artistic finish are taken into consideration, the prices are quite moderate. There are small necklets of ermine, mink, squirrel, fox ,and moleskin at ridiculously low prices, and there are sumptuous coat wraps of ermine, seal, mink, squirrel and beaver, anything from 80 to 400 guineas. One particularly gorgeous cloak is on view. It is shaped in the latest fashion, and has a deep collar and wide cuffs of white fox, elegantly lined with pink brocade, I faced with cream satin. Another very I handsome, luxuriant wrap is a mantle of grey squirrel with a wide circular band of Hudson Bay seal, the whole charmingly lined with floral satin of an Alice blue background, and a rose pink design. As a protection against the cold night, air the' wraps for the theatre or the ballroom are absolutely lavishing, and nothing but a visit to the shop could give an idea of them. There are three which stand out, one oi gold and black brocade trimmed with ermine, and lined with lose pink brocade; another of gold and wh' brocade, richly trimmed and lined witv lemon coloured eharmeuse, and the third one is of cerise and gold brocade trimmed with skunk. There are short capes and long capes, tiny necklets and wide shoulder wraps, in white fox, racoon, mole, beaver, skunk. mink, cross fox, fitch, chinchilla and sable—all perfect animal skins, and all lined in a most artistic and effective manner. A visit to this unique fur exhibition should not be delayed; it created a furore in Wellington, and the opportunity ;n Ohristchurch should not bo missed. i
