January 26. One hundred and seventy claims for compensation for malicious injury, involving £250,000, have been listed at the Tipperary sessions, many relating to reprisals. Two bombs were thrown at a police lorry from a doorway at Usher's Island. Dublin, but they fell behind tho vehicle. A volley was fired by a group of men, without, result. Police on the other side of the river fired a volley and several men fell. It is reported that four are dead or badly wounded* They were carried by civilians into a Labyrinth of courts. Representatives of the Ulster Unionist Council met in London, and requested Sir James Craig to become leader of the party. Sir James Craig accepted, subject to the unanimous approval of the full council, which will meet in Bel fast on Friday
