A CAVE DWELLER
DISCOVERY AT TAYLOR S MISTAKE.
A party of Sumner residents while rambling among the cliffs in the vicinity of Taylor’s Mistake discovered a new cave high up on the cliffs. On closer inspection they were surprised to find the rock dwelling was inhabited. The proprietor proved to ho a real live genuine hermit of doubtful age. Although of ferocious appearance and apparently not accustomed to seeing human beings, the rock dweller, who had shunned haunts of men for probably years innumerable, proved quite tractable and allowed the party to inspect his habitation. _ The interior strangely contrasted with the usual style of cave dwelling to l>e found at Taylor’s Mistake, the floor being strewn with a mass of bones, shells and implements of a bygone age. An effort is being made to persuade this relict of the prehistoric period to attend the Sumner Gala on Saturday next, where the Cave Rock will he specially fitted up to accommodate him in the manner to which he has been accustomed and the public will be admitted at a small charge.
