AN ORDER OF COURT.
TREATED WITH CONTEMPT. [Pei*. Piays Assocmtoy.] WELLINGTON’, December 21. David Henry Wallace appeared at the Supremo Court to-day ns a result of his failure to surrender to his bail during the last quarter sessions. Wallace was ordered by the Chief Justice two years ago to pay certain compensation, and in May last, when he again appeared before Sir Robert Stout in connection with the same matter, he was given until November 10, 1920. to find the money. “You treated that .order with the utmost coni erupt/’ said Mr_ Justice Salmoml this morning. ‘/You did ultimately pay something like £ 25, but there was still PCS owl iug. You wore to appear on November 10 to receive sentence for your offence, and you did not appear, with the consequence that 'yon hare had to be arrested. It was'not until that arrest that you treated the orders of Uio Court as anything of consequence/'’ Eor the offence which Wallace committed in 1918 his Honor fined him C2O, in default two months’ imprisonment. He was allowed one month in which to find the iiiv’-icy.
