Tho sitting of the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court mis held at the police stationto-day, owing to St Andrew’s Day being a Court holiday. Mr C. W. Hervcy, J.P., presided. Joseph M’Anliffe was charged (1) with stealing at Christchurch on November 23 a cheque for £8 and a brief bag valued at £l, the properly of Albert Pratt, and (2) stealing an. overcoat valued at, £6 and a suit-case and contents, valued at £5, tho property of Charles 'William M’Donald. On the application of ChiefDeteoljTe M’Hveney a, i ere and was granted to the following day.
