CHARGE OF FAVOURITISM.
By T»l*grapb—Pren Association—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cable Assooiiitnn. (Received November 6, 1.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 6. Air P. Selig, of Christchurch, chairman of the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, was among the passengers by the Osterley. He complains of the inconvenience and delay caused by the action of the quarantine authorities after the legal time of quarantine had expired. He, with a number of other passengers, desired for particular reasons to proceed to Sydney by train, but were refused permission. Yet several Sydney passengers, and one who desired to see the Melbourne Cup; were allowed to land. Such favouritism merited a searching inquiry.
The nine o’clock Sunday train to Lyttelton will be run as a special tomorrow evening, and instead of leaving Christchurch at 9 p.m., will leave at 10 p.m., so as to enable the Lyttelton residents to attend the concert to bo given by the Wellington Watersidors’ Band in the Theatre Royal to-morrow evening. The train will leave Lyttelton for Christchurch at 10.25 p.m. iu-dl-pbH nf 9,25 n.m:
