Realising that many people are still in mourning. they have introduced a note of black into some of the new .bangles. A narrow band of brilliants ends with a big amethyst surrounded with diamonds or in a clasp 0 f diamonds and onyx in bold and showy style. For the hat the jewel is in two peccs, about four inches in length, which fit together, sotnetimes in the form of an arrow. “Jewels,” said” a shopkeeper in the Rue do’ la Paix, “ wilP v bo worn more! this winter than for several years past, and will not bo confined to w woman’s breast and ears. Her hair, her arms, her bosom, and even her ankles will sparkle with gems.”
