In order to carry out tho scheme tho Works Manager is at present inspecting the plants of tho loading manufacturors of Great Britain and the United States. Tho centralisation of tho whole of the manufacturing operations of the Company will ensure increased efficiency in production and selling. GROWTH OF THE COMPANY The growth of tho business during the last, ten years is indicated by tho following figures:— In 1910 the sales totalled .. .. £49,492 In 1915 the sales totalled .. .. £90,462 In 1920 tho sales totalled .. .. £150,940 Tho Company manufactures the famous "Anderson” Oil Engine. The popularity of this engine, which is entirely designed and manufactured at the Company’s Works in Christchurch, is proved by the fact that tho output for tho current year is 1160 engines, representing 3184 horse power, as compared with 155 engines, representing 620 horse power, in 1915. Local Bodies throughout N.Z. aro using Road Rollers, Graders, Stone Crushers, and Concrete Mixors supplied by the Company. Over four hundred Dairy Factories in Now Zealand, and many in .•-mith Africa, arc using machinery and plant manufactured by the Company. Refrigerating Companies, Fellmongers, and Woolscourefs are large users of tuo Company's products. , The Lyttelton Works have to their credit well-known examples of Railway "Viaducts, and of other Structural Engineering Work, such as hydraulic and steam cranes, hydro-clcctric construction work, builders’ iron work, and boilers, all of which aro to bo seen throughout tho Dominion. Apart from-manufacturing, a profitable wholesale trade is carried on by tho Company’s Hardware Department. The firm also holds several valuable Agencies for British and American Manufacturers. Without the expense of numerous branches, the Company has established throughout N.Z. an efficient selling organisation under the control of tho Company’s Sales Manager, thus freeing the W’brks Management to concentrate all its energies on production and expansion. OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT ISSUE It is’necessary, in order to take full advantage of-tho opportunities for development which are foreseen, for tho Works and Plant of the Company to be extended, and a large amount of capital is. required for that purpose which will bo partly provided out of tho present issuo. Having regard for dairy machinery, road rollers, tractors, and all other engines, machines and implements manufactured and supplied by tho Company, and to tho importance attached in New Zealand to the development of our dairy and agricultural resources, the future offers great scope for the extension of the business carried on by Audcrsons Limited, and a largely increased output can confidently be expected, Tho Shares offered to tho public arc Preferential both 5 as regards dividend and capital, and aro entitled to a cumulative preferential dividend of 7% per annum free of N.Z.
