At a meeting of the Auckland City Council last night, states a Press Association telegram the resignations of Councillors A. J. Entrican and E. H. Uayis were received and accepted. The insinuations aro tho outcome of the purchase by these councillors of sections owned by th e council in Anzac Avenue. It was ruled by the Audit Department that this was m contravention of the Municipal Corporations Act, and made iHessrs Elirncan and Davis ineligible to sit as uioriiboTb of the council.
