MANAWATU LINE FLOODED. PASSENGERS SENT BY ROAD. fPiiR Press, Association.! . LEVIN, October 28. There was a complete; hold-up of all north and south traffic on the Manawatu hue to-day, owing to floods. The water covered the permanent way between Shannon and Koputaroa. Six expresses,, Auckland, Now Plymouth, Napier, north and south' service, each spent the greater part of the day at Shannon and Levin. Fortunately, the roads .remainedpassable, and the passengers were transferred by motor-cars from Shannon to Levin both ways. The south-bound Main Trunk passengers left Levin for Wellington at about five o clock, six hours late. Transferring is still m progress to-night. There is no indication when through traffic will be possible. Five inches of rain have fallen during the past three days.
