The Minister of Internal Affairs advises that the Government has,decided 1 to discontinue as from October 22 the existing permit system between New Zealand and Australia, only in so iar as British subjects are concerned. The permit system will be continued in . respect of aliens and naturaJised British subjects. Its continuance iii respect to naturalised British subjects is necessary, as a person naturalised in New Zealand would nob be regarded in Australia btatos as a British_ subject, unless his cerkiicato of naturalisation had been enciorsed in Australia or vice versa. All persons leaving New Zealand fo r Australia before October 22 will require to have permits.
