Bradley, with 101, have both performances tu be proud of. * * * The shooting of the secondary schools lor this year lias been very good. At the-Boys’ High School and Christ’s College every second boy who has tired lias gained his marksmanship. The number of hoys who have scored over 100 is an indication of the improvement in the shooting at the schools. The best shots to date at the respective schools are:— Technicil College—Cadet* D. S. About forty officers, including Colonel i'oung, 0.C.D., were present. A short tdast fist was .gone through, interspersed with musical items, given by Colonel Murphy, Major F. P. Osinaubmith, Captain T. Oharteris, Captain M7Kinney and Lieutenant Righv. ■ V A barracks will be held at Lincoln College for tbo college students from November 14 to November 21. Captain \\ ild, of Lincoln College, will bo in charge; Lieutenant Pleasants will bo adjutant, and the. instructors will bo Sergeant-Majors Glanville and Stewart. * * Ihe Boys’ High School authorities propose to hold a barracks either at Burnham or RedcJitfs,' commencing about the -beginning of December, and lasting tor a week. *»* ■t he Christchurch Cadets hockey team again defeated Wellington, who came here for their return match last Saturday, aud lost by four goals to. one. The Wellington Cadet Association team which came down then were, however, more successful, defeating the local boys by.'four .-goalsTo three. The Christchurch Association team goes north for a. return match on Labour Dav. * * ' * Tho military authorities intend to continue their efforts to encourage sport amongst the Cadets during tho* summer, aud three cricket teams have been entered in the hoys’ League competition. A tabloid -athletic meeting will be- held in Haglcv Park on October 30 tor all Cadets belonging to night parading companies. The events comprise 100 yds sprint, 80yds backwards race, running long jump, high jump,, three forward jumps and a relay race ’ ■ *.* At the Officers’ Chib the next war game will take place on Thursday, and will include entraining and advance guards. The Passmore Shield is awarded annually to the secondary school G-adec company of. a. minimum strength of 100 which exhibits the best general allmind proficiency, including the work of the Cadet officers.and N.C.O.’s.
