CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
ANNUAL COMPETITIONS.
The Canterbury Caledonian Society opened its annual competitions last evening. There was a large attendance and satisfactory entries. Messrs C. Bell (dancing), J. Allan (piping) and H. Gladstone Hill (singing and recitations) are the judges. Messra J. Shanahan, J. Allan, L. Shields, R. Milne and It, Leifge are the pipers for the dances. The following were last evening's results: Highland Fling (open, under 17 years)— Rita Peterson .1, Leslie Edginton 2, Emily Turner 3. Sword Ranee (1920 pupils)—’Vera Brightmore 1, Marjory Sey 2. Scottish Song (under 17 years)--Dnlcio Philnott 1. Valeric Tolputt 2. Pearl Black 3. Highland Reel (open, under 17 years)— Violet Robertson I, Dorothy Caldow 2, Muriel Waugh S. The competitions were continued this afternoon. Highland Fling (1090 pnpi],., under 10 years)— Cecil Franks 1 Jessie MlDonald 2 Scottish Sqisg (under 12 yearsJ-Kathleen Philpott 1, Ethel Brown 3.
