AUCKLAND TOWN CLERK.

[Pbr Press Association.] AUCKLAND September G. At tin. conclusion of its meeting on Thursday evening last tho City Council dealt in committee with a letter from Mr H. \V. Wilson tendering his resignation as town dork of Auckland. The resignation was accepted as from September SO, 1021, leave of absence being granted from to-day till the expiry of his term. Mr Wilson is a native of Dunedin, in which city he spent twentytwo years on the municipal staff, beginning as a cadet and rising to the position of acting-town clerk. He succeeded the late Mr Phillips . as town clerk of Auckland in 1900, taking up his duties in March of that year. The Mayor reported to the Council when in committee that there were several staff matters requiring consideration, and it is understood that the council has under consideration further changes and rearrangement of staff.
